Coleco's tabletop Evolved Mini Arcades have an 80's vibe and are available via Kickstarter

Coleco Evolved Mini Arcades
Many of us remember the original Coleco tabletop arcade games and have been awaiting their return!
The owner of the Coleco brand has hinted several times about releasing products from the brands illustrious past. Finally, they are announcing two tabletop arcade-stye tabletop games that look similar to the ones we loved in the 80s. They have produced Rainbow Brite and Robotech.

Similar to Atari, Coleco is not the original company you may recall from the Colecovision era. The brand is owned by a company hoping to leverage it to deliver a profit. With this in mind, the first two (hopefully there will be more) tabletop arcade games are being crowd funded on Kickstarter. You'll find a lot of info about each of these games on the Evolved Mini Arcades Kickstarter page.

As of this writing, the campaign has over 260 backers and is nearly reached it's $30,000 funding goal with nearly a month to go. If you were a fan of the Coleco tabletop arcade games back in 1981, definitely check out this campaign. If you love handheld or miniature games, we think you'll love these!

Coleco Evolved Mini Arcades It's worth noting that the brand-owner of Coleco was briefly involved with the failed Retro VGS game console project that was renamed the Coleco Chameleon. The project was highly suspicious and made several attempts to dupe backers after proof-of-concept failed miserably.

Coleco was quick to sever ties with the individual behind the project. It would be easy to say it tarnished the Coleco brand, but I believe Coleco acted quickly and responsibly to protect the company and it's customers from fraud. Their handling of that fiasco demonstrated a commitment to excellence and quick resolution - very impressed with how it was handled.
