The UK sets an example for repurposing abandoned Toys R Us stores... after-hours raves

Alas, the police arrested several people and confiscated their sound system.
Two weeks ago, some enterprising folks, in West London, decided it was a shame for an abandoned Toys R Us to go unused. They thought it was a great location for an after-hours rave. I have to admire their thinking. All abandoned buildings should be used as such.

I'd love to attend a rave in an old Toys R Us, but I have selfish reasons. In the late 90s we were still able to find boxed Atari 2600 games on TRU shelves. We'd cozy up to an employee and kindly ask if they had any more of these "old games" in the store room. Very often they did!

I'm sure all the Atari product that once existed in Toys R Us inventory is long gone, but I would definitely hit up a TRU rave if it gave me access to the former store room. I wouldn't be able to pass up the chance to strike Atari gold in a forgotten corner of the back room. I'll miss Toys R Us for many reasons going back to my childhood and forward to my son's. Finding old Atari games was grand!
