Day two of Atari's Indiegogo campaign for their VCS console reached $2 million

$2 million is an impressive achievement, but they have very little time to bring it to market by July 2019
Can Atari delver a game console to 8,000+ people in one year? They've been very coy - bordering on secretive - about showing the console or real game footage. They did not even attempt to show a functional console at the Game Developer Conference only three months ago in March.

If they don't have a prototype... how can they bring the VCS to market by their posted delivery date of July 2019? Do they even have proof-of -concept at this point? I opted to try and get one of the retro-modern joysticks for $30, so we'll see if Atari is indeed dedicated to this project or if they go dark again for months at a time.

Atari VCS campaign Incidentally, Kickstarter has more stringent policies about hardware developers having a prototype. This is why the ill-fated Retro VGS (aka Coleco Chameleon) switched to an Indiegogo campaign in 2015.
