Pre-Orders are open for Arcade1Up's Star Wars arcade cabinet

Arcade1Up's Star Wars Home Arcade Game
Customized beyond their other cabinets, this one features original arcade games, a realistic control Yoke and an illuminated marquee.
Arcade1Up's Star Wars Home Arcade Game Arcade1Up's The Star Wars Home Arcade Game features the original arcade versions of the classic games based on Star Wars: A New Hope, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The 3/4 size cabinet has original artwork on both the cabinet and included riser-stand.

The most notable customization is the 4-trigger yoke, similar to that on the original games. This is a special touch giving the game an added jolt of realism similar to the spinner controller installed on the Tempest cabinet.

Many of us remember the Star Wars games from the arcade and the vibrant vector monitors they employed. Alas, that technology doesn't come with the game. It uses the same display found across the line of Arcade1Up games.

The unit is bundled with a riser featuring matching artwork and unlike all the other models, the marquee lights up. The lit marquee is actually a really great upgrade. When I think of arcade games, the illuminated marquees was a huge part of the vibe. It's gotta be lit and I"m glad they did this for Star Wars. I hope it will continue with future games too.

I'm curious to test the durability of the yoke controller as it is central to all the included games. As cool as this is, I'm still skeptical of a device like this with only three games on it, especially at $499! Arcade1Up seems aimed at customers collecting multiple cabinets as opposed to offering more games.

Most of their cabinets have three of four games which are grouped nicely and fit together well, but pale next to the multicades with hundreds if not thousands of games. As I've often said, these cabinets are really cool, but not for everyone.
