Dell's brand new Wii console offer, in May, turned out to be an epic fail on their part

Two reps confirmed I'd be receiving a new Wii console. They screwed up and sent out a Switch game instead.
When a friend told me of an offer on Dell's website for a brand new Wii console, we both thought it was too good to be true. But for a new Wii... I had to go for it! We both felt this way. A new Wii in 2019. How cool would that be?

Each of us chatted with multiple Dell reps who all assured us these were new Wii consoles, not refurbished models from a decade ago. We were stoked. Two months later, I came home to a slim bubble-wrap envelope on my doorstep. Definitely not a Wii console.

Inside was a video game - Dragon Quest Builders 2 for Nintendo Switch. WTF!?! The page on Dell's site, formerly touting the sale of new Wii consoles, now has info for this game. What a waste of time and disappointment. I guess the old adage about things being "too good to be true" is true. I know mistakes happen, but this seems like more than having the wrong SKU. It's an entirely different type of product.

Dell thinks this is a Wii console
