A documentary about gaming legend Jeff Minter & LLAMASOFT is being crowd funded for a 2020 release

Heart of Neon documentary
For almost four decades Jeff Minter has made amazing video games across many different platforms. He's earned a documentary!
Paul Docherty started out as a video games graphics designer in the 1980s and sought another way to bring his gaming experience to the masses. He's chosen to make a documentary about Jeff Minter and Ivan Zorzin of LLAMASOFT. Heart of Neon being crowd funded on Kickstarter.

Minter is renown as a video game programmer with a knack for harnessing every ounce of power from hardware and software. His creations push limits and cross boundaries, generating some of the most amazing games to shower pixels across a screen. My introduction to Minter's brilliance was Tempest 2000 for the Atari Jaguar (and more recently, T4K on the PS4). That game alone makes the Jag a must-have piece of hardware.

Atari Jaguar - Tempest 2000 That speaks volumes about Minter's prowess as a developer. Aside from enjoying his creations, I know very little about him. He seems pretty low key and doesn't appear much in mainstream media. A guy this brilliant, must have a story.

Paul Docherty is kickstarting a documentary to pry a bit deeper into Minter, Zorzin, and LLAMASOFT. Personally, I'd love to know more about him. He's been so influential with no much fanfare. Minter's story needs to spread. A documentary seems like a good way to showcase his talent and life in LLAMASOFT.

Docherty's crowd funding campaign is ambitious and I hope he can get funded. If you want to know more about one of gaming's luminaries, check out Heart of Neon on Kickstarter and see if it's a project you'd like to see come to fruition.

Thanks to Ausretrogamer for pointing us toward this promising documentary!
