Missile Commander book: Three fire buttons. One Trak-Ball. A world that needs saving - one coin at a time

Missile Commander: A Journey to the Top of an Arcade Classic
The book is one player's forty-year journey with Atari's legendary arcade title, Missile Command!
I just found our about Tony Temple's book, Missile Commander: A Journey to the Top of an Arcade Classic and placed an order. It's a hardcover book detailing his love of Atari's Missile Command video game from discovering it as a teen to winning a Guinness World Record.

Missile Commander: A Journey to the Top of an Arcade Classic My attraction to this title is that it is not a pretty coffee table book. While it does feature many images, the book is about the game from development to discovering bugs, controversy, and meeting the programmer. It would appear to tell a story with an in depth look at the game. I enjoy finding such books that delve into a single game with passion and knowledge.

Missile Command was one of my must-play games to my teenage arcade life. I loved playing it on my Atari 2600, but really loved the arcade cabinets with three fire buttons and a trackball. A local arcade put a cocktail version on the floor about two years ago, but they closed permanently last summer due to the pandemic. I'm hoping to relive some of my youthful Missile Command passion and learn more about this game itself from Tony's book.
