Moving on from The Matrix, CNN uses game footage from Fallout as a backdrop to a hacking story

CNN uses Fallout game footage
In a world laden with stock photos and generic video, it seems odd to use content from a copyrighted game.
Did CNN not realize the backdrop to their Russian hacking story was from Bethesda's video game, Fallout? Or are they so lazy they simply grabbed some "computer footage" and dropped it in?

A Reddit user saw the Pip Boy similarity and the debate has rolled on encouraging CNN in this new direction and cease using footage from The Matrix for "computer" stories. One can only wonder if Fallout will be the new Matrix for conveying "complicated stuff".

Simulation from The Matrix The sad truth is - none of this matters. News has ceased being an informative enterprise with actual journalism. It's simply bait to garner advertising revenue. Coverage of Foreign Affairs has sunk to new lows as metrics indicate viewers don't care.

Folks are content to sit at home and watch stories about potatoes that look like Jesus while "reacting" to things appearing in their Facebook timeline. Complacency is the norm these days. Apathy is a way of life for some people.

Technology is getting smarter while, as a population, we delight in becoming dumber. Either way there's going to be a Cyberdyne logo on our demise.
