Homebrew devs announce Paprium for Sega Genesis, a spiritual successor to Streets of Rage

Watermelon announce Paprium for Sega Genesis
PAPRIUM (code name: "ProjectY") is a 16-Bit post-apocalyptic, outrageous, street brawler aiming to delight Streets Of Rage fans.
If you recall the rave reviews for Watermelon's Pier Solar, you can imagine the excitement for the release date of Paprium for Sega Genesis. Formerly known as ProjectY, it was announced back in 2012. You'll be able to play Paprium on a Genesis/Mega Drive cartridge in September 2017!

Paprium for Sega Genesis Streets Of Rage is one of those games that I love being able to play across several different platforms from the Genesis to PS3 and 3DS. Each rendition has it's own uniqueness and reminds me what an amazingly fun game it is.

Fans of side-scrolling brawlers will have a 16-bit gem to tackle in Paprium. You can pre-order it on their website as well as keep up with the release process. This looks like a must-have game and will even work in the Genesis Classic Game Console from AtGames - if you don't have the SEGA hardware.

From the Paprium website:
Year 8A2, somewhere at equidistant point between Shanghai, Tokyo and Pyongyang, a Megapolis rose from ashes of the shortest but most devastating nuclear war in history, its name is PAPRIUM. BRUTAL, MASSIVE.

You will fight your way through the city with Tug, Alex and Dice. Redefine the word justice, deal with the BLU drug temptation, and more importantly: STAY ALIVE!
