Sounds as if some behind the scenes incidents caused the name change and delay in the Kickstarter campaign.
Polymega logo We heard about the modular design of the Polymega console in February and were excited for the April Kickstarter. Their approach is to have a singular base console with a disc drive (supporting: PS1, TurboGrafx-CD and Sega CD) and the ability to plug in modules designed to emulate various game consoles. This modular approach would allow you to buy an NES module and an Atari VCS module to play your collection of carts for those systems.

Ideally, the Polymega would have additional module coming to market to support other consoles like the Atari 5200 or N64. We love the idea and are glad they are coming back with more updates an info. The next few days and weeks should be filled with announcements about this revolutionary console.

Systems like this are tackling retro gaming in new ways, which lends well to preservation of platforms as original equipment deteriorates over time. The Polymega's ability to cater to a wide, and ever growing, group of game consoles makes it an important part in the evolution of retro gaming. Keep an eye out for their Kickstarter and upcoming announcements!
