Toys R Us have been sitting out the pre-order part of Nintendo's Switch launch
TRU doesn't usually sit out the opportunity to drive sales via game console pre-orders, but I've seen no Switch action as of yet.
While their website has had a "Coming Soon" message on their Switch page for a long time, Toys R Us now has the console and some accessories listed. They are mostly listed as being "out of stock", but at least there's a mention. I'm not sure there's enough time left to make a pre-order possible with only 4 weeks remaining.
I'm miffed as to why they sat out the pre-order scene. I would think it would drive traffic to their stores that will now be heading to other retailers. Perhaps they want to capitalize on those who missed out on pre-orders with other retailers... but how does Geoffrey lure them in?
This small Switch sign sitting in a locked case full of Wii U games is the only sign that Toys R Us is promoting Nintendo's new console in my local store. Their lack of participation is strange.
