Atari's Missile Command Recharged is a fun reboot of the iconic original from 1980

Intellivision began showcasing their Amico reboot of Missile Command just as Atari debuted theirs for Android and iOS.
When it comes to mobile games, I'm a very casual player. Atari's Missile Command Recharged is right up my alley. As a retro gamer, it's an irresistible title and reminiscent of the 1980 version. The gameplay is simple to jump into. I can see playing this whenever I'm waiting on line or have only a few minutes to fill.

Tapping the screen launches your retaliatory defense, but it isn't as easy a you might think on a small screen. Too often I focus on one area, missing the incoming onslaught on the other side of my phone's little screen.

Good fun! It's full of modern gaming elements from leaderboards to power-ups. There's also an augmented reality (AR) setting that lets you plop an virtual Missile Command arcade cabinet anywhere you point you phone's camera and projects your game as though you were in an arcade. The game is free to download, but you can pay $2.99 to remove the advertising.
