Building Arcade Joysticks Compatible with the Atari 5200
There was no love lost in replacing the myriad of buttons from the Atari 5200 joystick controller to a rugged gaming beast that took all the punishment a gaming session could dole out. Of course replicating a 10-button keypad with arcade buttons may have been a bit excessive.
The 5200 controller was always the weakest link of the Atari 5200. Almost everyone who owns one has 2 lousy controllers eager to be donated to the Arcade cause. The 5200 games were so spectacular, after playing the 2600 counterparts that the lame controller was a constant source of frustration.
